About the event

Pressing Possibilities: Tetra Pak Collagraph Plate Making & Printing

Join us for an exciting painting workshop designed for individuals of all skill levels! Whether you're a beginner looking to explore your creativity or an experienced printmaker wanting to refine your techniques, this workshop offers something for everyone.

Tetra Pak Printing: Ingenious, Accessible, and Fun

During an artist residency in Venice in November 2023, Kelly discovered the limitless potential of Tetra Pak printing—a clever technique that gained popularity in Italy during the 2020 lockdown, often printed on domestic pasta makers. Ingenious and sustainable, this method transforms recycled Tetra Paks into dynamic prints resembling etching, drypoint, monoprint, and collagraph techniques. Flexible, forgiving, and endlessly adaptable, Tetra Pak printing offers exciting opportunities to experiment with texture and produce striking results.

Join Kelly and Kat for a two-day workshop to explore this versatile and affordable printmaking method, and see how everyday materials can be used in unexpected and creative ways.

Day one will involve an introduction into collagraph printing and the creation of collagraph plates using tetrapaks.

Day two will involve final matrix finessing and the exciting adventure that is printing.
